TRADED 01/23! I've owned or handled about 30 early SB-Series Aria basses over the years but this is the first Elite I have ever had in my hands. Of course, it's everything I expected it to be. The pearl white finish just enrobes the entire body and neck. It's a neck-thru design that most likely has a Japanese ash body and 5-piece laminated maple/walnut neck. It has a 24-fret neck with rosewood fretboard and 'cateye' inlays. It's got 2 pickups and passive electronics featuring concentric pots for volume and tone along with switches for coil taps and out-of-phase sounds all topped off by a teardrop pickup selector switch. It's got a clear plexiglas backplate in place of the brass original which mercifully sheds a few precious ounces off the 10 3/4 lb total weight. It's a great player and a fine example of the quality of the Japan Matsumoku factory. Includes original hard case.
